Tim is a PhD candidate researching the application of advanced data analytics techniques to the manufacturing industry. These include statistical, machine learning, and text mining methods. He is particularly focused on the mining of warranty data, and how this can be paired with other data sources - for example analysing product usage patterns to understand causes of failure.
Background
Tim completed an M.Eng at Durham University, with a maters project in artificial intelligence. He then worked in the finance sector with EY (Ernst & Young), with whom he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. His work was focused around analytics and building forecasting models to support decision making.
