Maharshi is a PhD student working with the Asset Management group headed by Dr. AKN Parlikad. His area of interests is distributed decision making within a fleet of industrial assets. Previously he has worked on distributed operations planning, and distributed prognostics of assets as a part of his undergraduate research project under Dr. BK Lad. He holds a B.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore. He has interned at large-scale power plants operated by Sogex Oman LLC, and also at the Institute for Manufacturing as a part of his undergraduate studies.
