Jelto has joined the Institute for Manufacturing – Centre for Technology Management (CTM) in November 2019 as a visiting graduate student. Under the supervision of Dr Frank Tietze and Dr Pratheeba Vimalnath and within his master’s dissertation, he is conducting research towards developing an intellectual property portfolio and strategy visualization tool illustrating the effects IP strategies have on the UN Sustainable Development Goals based on the existing templates developed by the IIPM and IPACST research group and visualization expertise at CTM. He is especially interested in Open Innovation, Sustainability and how technological advancement in the form of innovations can accelerate the transition to a global sustainable development.

Jelto is currently enrolled in the master’s program in Management & Technology at Technical University of Munich specialising in Mechanical Engineering and Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship. He was previously awarded an undergraduate degree in BEng International Industrial Engineering from Hochschule Bremen where he finished his bachelor’s dissertation in cooperation with Fraunhofer IFAM – Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials. Jelto has worked for BMW in the field of Open Innovation and Technology Management, for Enercon, Volkswagen and Comet Group. Prior to joining the IfM, he gained international academic experiences abroad at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden, the British Institute of Technology (BCIT) in Vancouver, Canada, and completed various internships in Vienna, Austria, and Bern, Switzerland
