Gaurav Kulkarni's eclectic background has taken him from developing experimental hardware for the International Space Station to working with polar data at the British Antarctic Survey. With a master's in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University, he connects physical systems, instrumentation and data, with an interest in what measurements reveal about the world around us.

At the Institute for Manufacturing, he brings this perspective to the Global Supply Chain Observatory. His work explores how climate projections and satellite observations can help us understand environmental change, from the water we monitor to the food systems and supply chains we depend on.
