Declan obtained an MPhys in Physics from Heriot-Watt University and joined the University of Cambridge as a PhD student in 2018, working in collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). His current research takes place at NPL where he is working on the design and development of practical x-ray interferometers (XRI) suitable for a range of dimensional nanometrology applications
